Ideas for the ultimate brunch party
Ah, brunch. The perfect middle ground between a late breakfast and an early lunch. And the ideal excuse to enjoy mimosas in the summer sunshine. Let your creativity and love for breakfast food near lunchtime take over with these inspired brunch party ideas:
Get a little fancy
The best brunch tables are full of fun and elegant finishing touches. Choose a bold colour palette with a core accent colour like Tiffany Blueand complement with glass or white vases overflowing with flowers. If you’re feeling creative, give your brunch buffet a stylish backdrop using paper fans, paper pom-poms, and garlands.
Spring is in
A brunch table simply isn’t complete without fresh seasonal flowers. Amp up the effect and colour with the use of fresh fruit in between. For a more rustic feel, use flowers, leaves and succulents as a table runner instead of a table cloth. Bring even more floral flair to your drinks table by serving floral ice –with frozen edible flowers in each cube.
Mad for Mimosas
A mimosa bar is an absolute brunch must. Provide champagne in ice buckets, and fresh juices in stylish jugs along with freshly cut fruits for garnish. If you’re providing lots of different juices for mixing, put out some cocktail recipe cards for your guests to encourage them to try something different. Add a few jugs of flavoured water to the table –use lemon, strawberries, blueberries and cucumber –they always look fabulous. MPR Hiring has a wide range of glassware and jugs for the perfect mimosa bar, take a look here.
Focus on the food
Beyond the pretty table, don’t forget that when people have put off eating breakfast to indulge in brunch, they mustn’t be disappointed! Make sure you cover all the brunch basics, while giving them your own little twist. When catering for a brunch you should try to have:
- One egg dish –think frittatas, omelettes, poached eggs, scrambled eggs or quiche
- Fresh breads and pastries (you can’t go wrong with croissants)
- Something sweet –offer at least of these options: waffles, pancakes, crumpets, muffins
- Fresh fruit salad and yoghurt
Don’t forget the coffee
You can’t ask people to attend an event at any time in the morning without offering coffee! Turn it into a DIY experience by offering different flavours and a variety of creamers and sweeteners. It will be the first stop for many of your guests 😉
